Richard is brought in when the decision is significant, the risk of getting it wrong is too high to carry alone, or when a business needs someone in the room who has seen it before. He holds a Level 7 NVQ in Construction Senior Management, is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building currently completing his Fellowship application, and is CDM Awareness qualified.

Board level input, when it counts.

Many businesses reach a point where they have grown faster than their governance structure can support. A Non-Executive Director brings independent oversight, commercial challenge and delivery experience to the board. Someone who has seen the mistakes before they happen and carries no agenda other than the health of the business. As a result, that independent perspective is often the difference between a good decision and an expensive one, particularly for construction businesses operating in complex or regulated environments. Not every business is ready for a formal Non-Executive Director appointment. For smaller construction businesses, owner-managed contractors and developers at an earlier stage, Richard also works as a Non-Exec Advisor, providing the same independent thinking, commercial challenge and strategic input without the legal structure of a board directorship. Principal Designer

CDM compliance, without compromise.

Since the Building Safety Act 2022, the Principal Designer role carries statutory legal responsibilities on construction projects that cannot be delegated or ignored. CDM principal designer duties include pre-construction planning, design risk management and compliance coordination throughout the project lifecycle. As a Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act, Richard ensures these responsibilities are met without gaps. Consequently, many developers and contractors are more exposed than they realise. Richard provides Principal Designer services across residential and commercial projects, under CDM regulations and the Building Safety Act.
